Do you have a First Aid question? We’ve got answers!
First aid saves lives, but it’s normal to have questions, especially when it comes to using life-saving equipment like an AED (defibrillator). That’s why we’re excited to introduce our new Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) series! Our expert trainers will be answering some of the most common first aid queries in short, practical videos to help you feel more confident in emergency situations.
Our First FAQ: How many times can you shock someone with an AED?
A question we’re often asked in our training sessions is: “How many times can someone be shocked with an AED?” The answer? As many times as the defibrillator tells you.
AEDs are designed to guide you step-by-step, assessing the casualty’s heart rhythm and delivering shocks only when needed. There’s no set limit – whether it’s one shock or ten, you follow the AED’s instructions every time.
Key takeaway: When in doubt, trust the defibrillator. It will tell you exactly what to do!
