Who’s It For?
This qualification is for anyone who cares for children and babies; including parents, guardians, grandparents or people who have a professional involvement with children and babies.
Please note that this qualification does not fulfil Ofsted’s first aid requirements for early years teachers, nursery workers and child minders (as defined within the Early Years Foundation Stage document and within The Child Care Register guide). The longer QA Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid (RQF) (2 units) is designed to cover Ofsted’s minimum requirements for those who are subject to these guidelines.
Entry Requirements
Learners must be at least 16 years old on the first day of the training.
There are no other formal entry requirements but to benefit from the learning we advise that Learners have a minimum of Level 1 in literacy or numeracy or equivalent.

- The Roles and responsibilities of Paediatric First Aider
- Incident and casualty assessment
- CPR & AED
- Unconscious casualty
- Management of a seizure
- Choking casualty
- Shock
- External Bleeding, minor injuries and bites and stings
- MCQ Assessments – Multiple choice

1 Days 9.00- 4.00 – 6 Hours
Qualification:
QA Level 3 Award in Paediatric Emergency First aid 1 Credit (RQF)
On completion of a written & practical assessment you will receive
QA Level 2 Award in Paediatric Emergency First Aid 1 Credit (RQF) – Certificate valid for 3 years.
