Who’s It For?
This accredited qualification is for people who have a specific responsibility at work, or in voluntary and community activities, to provide Basic Life Support and/or use an AED when dealing with an emergency situation.
Entry Requirements
Learners must be at least 14 years old on the first day of the training.
There are no other formal entry requirements but to benefit from the learning we advise that Learners have a minimum of Level 1 in literacy or numeracy or equivalent.
This qualifications and the learning outcomes are based on the recommendations of:
- The Resuscitation Council (UK)
- Skills for Health Assessment Principles for First Aid Qualifications
Basic Life Support And Safe Use Of An AED – Course Content:
- Chain of Survival
- Incident and casualty assessment
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Using an Automated External Defibrillator
How Long?
Half Day – 9.00-12.30 – 3.5 Hours
Qualification:
QA Level 2 Award in Basic Life Support and Safe Use of an AED – 1 Credit (RQF)
On completion of a practical assessment you will receive a QA Level 2 Award in Basic Life Support and Safe Use of an AED – Certificate – Valid for 1 year.
