This qualification is for people who have a specific interest or responsibility in voluntary and community activities such as sports.
Entry Requirements
Learners must be at least 14 years old on the first day of the training.
There are no other formal entry requirements but to benefit from the learning we advise that Learners have a minimum of Level 1 in literacy or numeracy or equivalent.
Activity First Aid – Course Content:
Day 1 – First Aid Essentials
- Role and responsibilities of a Fire Aider
- Incident and Casualty Assessment
- CPR and AED
- Unconscious Casualty
- Management of Seizure
- Choking casualty
- External Bleeding and Shock
- Minor Injuries
- MCQ Assessment – Multiple choice
- Issue any homework reading
Day 2 – Management of illness and injury in Activities
- Secondary Survey
- Fractures, Sprains and Strains, Dislocations
- Head spinal injuries
- Chest and Abdominal injuries
- Burns and scalds
- Eye Injuries
- Poisoning substances
- Anaphylaxis
- Major Illness – Heart Attack, Stroke, Epilepsy, Diabetes, Asthma
- Extreme Heat and Cold
- MCQ Assessment – Multiple choice

2 Days – 9.00- 4.00 – 12 Hours
Qualification:
QA Level 2 Award in Activity First Aid – 2 Credits– (RQF)
On completion of a written & practical assessment you will receive
QA Level 2 Award in Activity First Aid – Certificate valid for 3 years.
