Caroline shares with us her 3 top tips for surviving lock down and we think they are fantastic!
- Make sure you are grounded. Symptoms of feeling ungrounded include dizziness, ‘spaced out’ and generally not with it. It is super easy to ground yourself, all you need to do is walk barefoot. Preferably walk barefoot outside if you can bare your feet being a little cold, but you can just walk bare foot in your home. The grounding effect of walking barefoot where free electrons from Mother Earth are transferred into your body is one of the most potent antioxidants known in research.
- Breathe! Yes, we all breathe but do you take deep nourishing breaths that your body needs to combat stress and fatigue? Try this simple yet effective technique, it is called 4 square breathing. Gently close our eyes and focus on your breath. Then breathe in for the count of 4, pause for the count of 4, breathe out for the count of 4. You can continue this pattern for as long as you feel you need – it should help you to feel calmer too!
- Be kind to yourself and know this will pass. Carve some time out of every day, even if it means locking yourself in the loo away from your children! Do what really makes you happy at least once a day and let go of any guilt feelings around this! Yes, you are important. Some ideas – an indulgent bath, reading a book, going for a walk, turning off the tv, saying no! Give yourself permission to be – maybe even put your arms around you and indulge in a hug.
