About this course

We offer two types of Manual Handling Training.

QA Level 2 Award in Safe Moving and Handling 2 Credits (RQF) (Objects) is a 1 Day Accredited course or we can offer a QA Level 2 Award in Principles of Manual Handling 1 Credit (RQF) (Objects) Half Day accredited Course, the choice is yours.

 

Moving and Handling (People) this again can be offered as a 1 Day or Half Day Course (Onelife Training Certification) or as a QA Level 2 Award in Moving People Safely (RQF) 2 Day Accredited course, this course is only offered onsite due to the fact that equipment is needed in order to train people within this area.

 

All of these courses can also be offered in house as Group Bookings we cover ALL of the UK however, Devon/Somerset/Dorset and Cornwall are our key areas.. We have delivered this training in a number of areas such as Exeter, Cullompton, Tiverton, Taunton and throughout Devon. Group Half Day Manual Handling

 

Who’s it for?

 

This accredited qualification is suitable for all employees to raise their awareness of the risks of unsafe manual handling practices and for people who may have to carry out manual handling as part of their job, e.g. handling deliveries, parcels and boxes. It is suitable:

 

  • To raise awareness about the importance of safe manual handling
  • As an introduction to those starting work that may involve manual handling
  • For those returning to work that may involve manual handling
  • As safety refresher training

 

Note: This qualification is a theory based qualification. Learners who need practical training should complete QA Level 2 in Safe Moving and Handling (RQF)

 

Entry requirements
Learners must be at least 14 years old on the first day of the training.
There are no other formal entry requirements but to benefit from the learning we advise that Learners have a minimum of Level 1 in literacy or numeracy or equivalent.

 

 

Half Day Manual Handling – Course Content:

 

  • Understand the importance of safe manual handling
  • Know how manual handling risk assessments contribute to improving health and safety
  • Understand the principles associated with manual handling safety
  • Understand the types of equipment and test requirements associated with manual handling safety
  • Multiple Choice Question Paper
  • Course Evaluation and closure

 

How long?

 

Half day – 0900-1200 – 3 Hours

 

Qualification:

 

Accredited QA Level 2 Award in Principles of Manual Handling  (RQF)  

On completion of a written multiple choice assessment you will receive a Level 2 Award in Principles of Manual Handling – Certificate valid for 3 years. It is recommended that training is refreshed every 3 years.

 

 

Half Day Manual Handling Investment:

 

£55 per delegate

Group Full Day Manual Handling

 

Who’s it for?

 

This qualification is ideal for those who perform manual handling duties in the workplace, including industrial and office based environments. It is suitable:

 

• As an introduction to those starting work which involves carrying out manual handling activities
• For those returning to work where manual handling activities are required
• As safety refresher training

 

Completion of this course will give you the knowledge you need to look carefully at your own work activities and contribute to the development of safer methods and tasks involving Manual Handling of objects.

Full day – 0900-1600 – 6 Hours

 

Qualification:

Level 2 Award in Safe Moving and Handling – Certificate valid for 3 years.

E-Learning Manual Handling

 

Who’s it for?

 

This course outlines exactly what constitutes manual handling and covers the regulations and legislation that apply to manual handling tasks. It then goes on to cover safe handling techniques and how to develop good habits in relation to manual handling. It finishes off by introducing some practical solutions and the use of mechanical aids.

Please note that this is an awareness course only, if your duties include manual handling you will also need further practical training, you can get in touch with us to arrange this.

Training your employees with our online system will go a long way to giving them greater awareness of the dangers that poor manual handling poses, as well as covering safe handling techniques, practical solutions to manual handling issues and the use of mechanical aids.
