What Is Blended Learning?
Day 1 is completed online, you can either complete this in a day or complete this over a few bit size sessions, as long as it is completed prior to the Day 2 classroom session.
Who’s It For?
This qualification is for people who have a specific responsibility at work, or in voluntary and community activities, to provide basic first aid to people in a range of first aid situations.
To attend the 2 Day Re-qualification course, you must have either of the following;
- A current 3 Day First Aid at Work certificate that is still current.
- Your existing 3 Day First Aid at Work certificate has expired, no more than 1 calendar month.
- Your existing 3 Day First Aid at work certificate has expired, more than 1 but no less than 3 calendar months, as long as you have proof of attending your annual refresher training.

On initial and re-qualification courses, all practical and theoretical assessments must be passed to gain the qualification.
Entry Requirements
Learners must be at least 14 years old on the first day of the training.
There are no other formal entry requirements but to benefit from the learning we advise that Learners have a minimum of Level 1 in literacy or numeracy or equivalent.

Day 1 – Online 6 Hours Pre Learning
- Introduction to the course
- Role and responsibilities of first aider
- Incident and Casualty Assessment
- Secondary Survey
- Hypoxia
- Epilepsy
- Diabetes
- Asthma (including respiratory system)
- Hyperventilation
- Burns and Scalds (including electrical and chemical burns)
- Eye Injuries
- Poisons
- Anaphylaxis
- Chest Injuries
- Circulatory System
- Heart Conditions
- Stroke
- Fractures, dislocations, sprains and strains
- Spinal Injuries
Day 2 – 2 Day Face to Face Classroom Session
- Assembly and Introductions
- Unresponsive casualty not breathing normally – CPR & AED learner practice – Assessment
- Unconscious casualty breathing normally – Recovery Position (inc. seizure management) – Assessment.
- Choking casualty – Assessment
- External bleeding including treatment for shock and bandaging – Assessment
- Catastrophic bleeding
- Minor Injuries
- Fractures treatment – slings – Assessment
- Head Injuries (concussion/compression/fractured skull)
- Spinal Injuries/MILS/Spinal Recovery position – Assessment
- Top to toe survey (theory covered in pre learning) – Assessment
- Unit 1 and Unit 2 MCQ Assessments
